I am a drummer, bandleader, composer, and teacher with an unusual background that has helped form and inform my musical interests and output.

From the young age of 3, I attended boarding schools, first near Rome, Italy, then later at the age of 7 at a school nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. I enjoyed my experience in India so much I chose to go back for 5 more years between 2003 and 2009. This unique experience exposed me to the music of India, particularly Indian percussion. It also left in me a desire to explore the musical cultures of the world.

Upon resuming my studies in the US, I got my first drum set. Sine then, I have been fortunate to study with many great teachers including John Yarling of the University of Miami, John Ramsay at Berklee College of Music, and Jeff Ballard at JazzCampus in Basel.

 

Additionally, I have been fortunate enough to perform in various settings, with some great bands. In 2016 I toured with world music group Indialucia as part of the Festival of Inner Peace, performing in Chicago, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Detroit. I also had the opportunity to perform as part of internationally-touring band Seven Eyes, first in Switzerland, and then in London as part of the 2018 EFG London Jazz Festival. I have also performed with my own and other projects in Boston, South Florida, Switzerland, France, and Italy.

Since moving to Switzerland I have received a bachelor's degree in Music Performance at JazzCampus in Basel, and am currently finishing my Master's in Performance there. While at JazzCampus I have been fortunate to study with many great musicians including Jeff Ballard, Paulo Almeida, and Laura Jurd.

As a music teacher, I have taught students as young as 3, and as old as 65+. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing students accomplish things they didn't think they could, at any age!

 

On drums, I am experienced in teaching many styles including -- but not limited to -- rock, jazz, funk, hip hop, Latin, and Brazilian (bossa nova, samba, maracatu, etc). I also offer lessons in jazz and classical harmony, composition, and percussion.

I have been teaching for ten years.

I also am preparing to release my debut album of my own original music in 2024!
